Same generic intro song as the menu song on the Stuntman game, it probably was the game I had the most fun playing.

Yup, i played the shit out of that.
My favorite memory of racing game intros has still got to be Gran Turismo 1.
Roughly a year before it's release, I saw a single, tiny, roughly 2" by 2" screenshot in gamepro magazine of Gran Turismo (the screencap was of a white acura integra) and the accompanying blurb just mentioned that the game was slated to have over 100 licensed cars. 100+ licensed cars! I couldn't fucking believe it! Back then if a game had 20 licensed cars it was KILLING it. Grand Tour Racing '98 (actually released a year before Gran Turismo in 1997) had like 60 non-licensed cars and it was an insta buy for me simply for that fact. The idea that Gran Turismo was shooting for 100+ cars, many of which looked to be cars i could someday dream of owning, simply blew me away.
I remember visiting a friend like 8 months later, he'd played the Japanese version of GT at a friends house. I was so jealous. According to him, it had a MKIV Supra in it (our favorite car) and you could MOD the cars! HOLY SHIT! THIS GAME IS GOING TO HAVE MODDING?!?!?
When I finally...FINALLY got my hands on the game, I made myself watch the entire intro before playing it. I just about peed myself i was so excited.
We forget what a giant step forward GT1 was. Incredible game for its time.

I LOVE this game. I've tried many other rally games over the years, but I still break out an old PlayStation on occasion just to run this program. Lots of good memories of a group of friends all playing, sitting in front of that massive 32" TV, downing a few six packs, and going through the entire season. That last one, Rally GB I think, was a b!tch, and I always got caught out on the extremely sharp turns. Love the tarmac rallies, and would kick ass when I had my car properly set up. The original PS1 graphics may look like crap by today's standards, but the gameplay cannot be beat.
